Southeast partners with one of nation's top children's hospitals
Southeast Hospital and SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center in St. Louis are building a bridge to a brighter future for the children of southeast Missouri and southern Illinois.
The partnership between Southeast and Cardinal Glennon means that the more than 15,000 children who rely on Southeast for Pediatric and Obstetric Services each year will have facilitated access to sub-specialty services at Cardinal Glennon, one of the nation’s top children’s hospitals.
Southeast incorporates Cardinal Glennon policies and procedures into its pediatric and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit protocols and will also have clinical support from Cardinal Glennon.
Through this clinical affiliation with the nationally-recognized SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center in St. Louis, physicians and nurses at Southeast are assured access to leading edge approaches in the care of critically ill newborns and children.
Babies who require extended ventilator support, are extremely premature, have heart anomalies or require the services of a pediatric surgeon may be transferred by our Neonatal Transport Team to Cardinal Glennon with these highly specialized services.
Southeast’s connection with Cardinal Glennon reaches back to 1980, when Southeast became one of the state’s first satellites for the Missouri Regional Poison Center at Cardinal Glennon. In 1989, again in conjunction with Cardinal Glennon, Southeast established a Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic.
