Promoting Health In Teens (P.H.I.T.)
Adolescent Health and Weight Management Program
A medically supervised, pediatric health and weight management program for children ages 13-17. The program's goal is to improve the quality of life of adolescents who struggle with health issues caused by obesity.
Participants will learn a positive approach to weight loss and fitness from health and wellness professionals in a helpful, supportive atmosphere. The individualized program is designed to help teenagers with weight concerns develop healthy eating habits and exercise skills that will be useful for a lifetime.
Prior to beginning, laboratory screening and physical exam to be completed by personal physician.
The Twelve Week Program includes:
Weekly sessions on nutrition and fitness with an emphasis on behavior modification. Certain sessions to be attended by participant with a parent or guardian.
After completion of the initial 12 week program, monthly follow up visits with registered dietitian and fitness professional continue for one year.
