Home Follow-up Program
Taking a new baby home from the hospital is probably one of the most exciting events of your life. This is true regardless if you are taking your first baby home or if your baby has siblings at home. In addition to this excitement, a number of unanswered questions often arise. Southeast Hospital is pleased to offer a free program called Home Follow-up Program. A few days after you and your baby leave Southeast, a registered nurse from the Dennis B. Elrod, MD, Obstetrics & Gynecology Center will call and check to see how you and your baby are doing.
The goal of the Home Follow-up Program is to provide you with support and discuss any issues that may arise after you return home from the Hospital. Questions about baby care, feeding, sleeping, crying, etc. can be discussed at this time. The nurse will also answer questions you may have about emotions, breastfeeding, engorgement, or other adjustment issues. The nurse may offer referrals if indicated.
To further assist you in the early days of parenting, you will also receive a follow-up call when your baby is two weeks of age and one month of age.
You may call the following numbers for questions pertaining to your baby or yourself at anytime.
