On
the 12th of each month, members of Southeast's
Mammography staff wear their Buddy Check
12 t-shirts to promote
the program.

Breast
cancer is the most common cancer for women -- and
the second most deadly. The American Cancer Society
estimates more than 200,000 new cases of breast
cancer will be diagnosed each year.
But death rates have been declining throughout the 1990s due to early detection
and improved treatment.
The likelihood of successful
treatment is greatest when breast cancer is
detected early, which is why Southeast Missouri
Hospital and KFVS 12 sponsor Buddy Check 12
breast exam education.

Southeast
Missouri Hospital wants to remind you to take
part in routine mammograms and breast examinations
by your physician and at home.
The Buddy Check program
is sponsored by Southeast Missouri Hospital
and KFVS 12. On the 12th day of each month,
a member of the KFVS TV 12 news team presents
a special Buddy Check report on the 5 p.m.
newscast.
