Among the special features of Southeast's cancer treatment program is the Regional Cancer Center, a large outpatient treatment facility that opened in 1981 on the main Hospital campus.

The Regional Cancer Center was the first of its kind in southeast Missouri.

Services include an inpatient/outpatient Radiation Therapy Department, Chemotherapy services and the Cancer Information Center, all staffed by personnel highly qualified in the Infusion care of cancer patients, including physicians with specialties in radiation oncology, hematology/oncology and surgery.

As required by the Commission on Cancer, a committee of doctors, supported by personnel from other Hospital departments, meets a minimum of four times a year to review the Regional Cancer Center's overall mission and progress.
