Southeast Missouri
Hospital's Tumor Registry is a cancer data system
which provides follow-up of all cancer patients
treated at the Regional Cancer Center.
The registry, begun in 1974, now has two certified
registrars -- Sally Thurlkill, CTR, certified
in 1986, and Connie Hess, CTR, certified in 1992.
The Tumor Registry, which currently follows
over 3,000 cancer patients, provides lifetime
patient followup to monitor the success of primary
and secondary treatment. The registry also submits
data to the National Cancer Data Base and the
Missouri Cancer Registry. This lifetime patient
follow-up helps monitor the success of primary
and secondary treatment.
