CTU provides highly-individualized care

Cardiothoracic Intensive Care
In a specially designed Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit staffed by RNs with advanced training in critical and cardiovascular care, patients receive highly individualized care immediately after heart surgery.

Southeast's nationally-recognized CTU is a 12-bed dedicated unit that includes two central nurse stations, a comfortable family waiting room, a classroom and family consultation area for teaching and counseling.

All patient rooms are private.

The unit is located next to the Hospital's Cardiovascular Services Department and has direct access to Surgery, Radiology, Emergency Services and the Chest Pain Center. The unit has been recognized by the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the American Institute of Architects Committee on Architecture for Healthcare for its innovative and spacious design.

From CTU, patients generally move to other Hospital nursing units to continue their recuperation.
