Trust Southeast Hospital Emergency Services

Since 1928, generations of area residents have counted on Southeast Missouri Hospital for emergency medical care. Today that care is provided in an emergency department that is among the region's finest in terms of experience, expertise, equipment and facilities.

Our 17,800-square-foot Emergency Services area includes:

Southeast's full-time staff of Emergency Services physicians, nurses and support staff provide rapid, around-the-clock emergency and trauma care.

Emergency Room

Flexible staffing allows for more on-duty physicians during busier times of day. Our ACLS-certified and trauma-trained staff also includes registered nurses, nurse practitioners, licensed practical nurses, trauma nurse specialists and other EMT-trained personnel.


Helpful Information about Southeast Missouri Hospital Emergency Services

A few pointers on how the ER works:

  • Registration- A clerk will ask you questions to start a chart for your care
  • Triage – An experienced nurse will ask you questions and assess you to help decide the severity of your illness or injury and how quickly you need to be seen.
  • Waiting Room – A nurse will check on you to make sure your condition has not changed. If you are feeling worse or if you decide to leave the waiting room, please tell the triage nurse.
  • Treatment Area – A team of physicians, nurses and support staff will care for you according to your needs. Lab work, X-rays or other tests may need to be performed.
