Nurse Extern Program

"The fusion of theory with the practical experience of nursing"

Southeast Missouri Hospital offers nursing students the opportunity to participate in a nurse externship program. Qualified students may apply for either the 10-week summer externship or a year-round program.

The 10-week rotation allows students to work with experienced registered nurses in various clinical areas of their interest.

Application deadline is September 1, 2010 for those graduating October/December 2011.

Positions are limited, so early application is recommended. Students work a 16 or 24-hour week with flexibility for 8 or 12-hour shifts, depending on the clinical experience selected.  During the summer break, externs may work up to 40 hours per week.

Benefits include excellent pay and opportunities for tuition assistance.
