New Regional Cancer Center

The new Regional Cancer Center, with its fluid design, world class technology and highly trained and exceptionally skilled staff of physicians and other healthcare personnel will take Southeast Missouri Hospital’s multi-disciplinary cancer program to an even higher plateau.

About the Building

  • The $33 million Regional Cancer Center project is one of the largest in the history of Southeast Missouri Hospital.
  • Slated for a December 2010 opening, the center will occupy 49,200 square feet.
  • Cancer patients will receive treatment in a comfortable, caring, patient-focused environment that features natural light and soothing touches of nature.

The two-level center will create a serene, healing environment that will address patients’ physical and psychological needs while delivering the most technologically advanced clinical services.

A Look Inside

  • Technology will include two linear accelerators, specialized radiosurgery, high dose-rate brachytherapy, MRI and a PACS system for digital imaging.
  • The center’s 34 Infusion Services chairs will be placed along an outside wall with abundant windows to give patients access to natural light and a green roof that will resemble a meadow.
  • Besides ample physician office space, the center will house a Pharmacy, on-site Lab, Imaging, centralized and streamlined Patient Registration, Education and Counseling Services, Social Services, Dietetics, Pastoral Care, Resource Library, a Café and meeting rooms.
  • The center will have an interior pedestrian link to the adjacent Medical Office Building, where some services will be housed.
