Birthing Suites Almost as Beautiful as the Babies Born in Them

Southeast Missouri Hospital has redesigned its birthing center with family comfort and privacy in mind. The redesign of our Dennis B. Elrod, M.D., Obstetrics & Gynecology Center includes

  • 21 new LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum) birthing suites (each with private restroom and shower facilities)
  • a registration/reception area
  • four triage rooms
  • nursery with viewing areas and Level III NICU
  • new staffing area
  • two OR suites located on the OB area
New LDRP rooms are open
Our new homelike accommodations make each birth all the more memorable and personal for the entire family. Learn about the other special ways we welcome babies.

Each LDRP suite features:

  • Central fetal monitoring
  • TV with VCR/DVD player
  • Individual climate control
  • Complimentary toiletries
  • Sleep sofa/chair
  • Private bath with shower or Jacuzzi
  • Hair dryer
  • Free WIFI
  • Special gift for mothers
  • 3 guest meals a day

Anesthesia is available 24/7.

The department of OB has set a 2 (two) people limit to be present during the childbirth, unless it is a rare circumstance.
