In Southeast Missouri Hospital's
Chest Pain Center, a team of physicians experienced
in cardiac care works with critical care nurses,
emergency technicians and consulting cardiologists
to quickly diagnose and manage patients who present
with chest pain.
The goal of the Chest Pain Center is to work
as rapidly as possible to determine if a patient
needs immediate interventional treatment or further
evaluation in Southeast's Chest Pain Observation
Unit. Patients admitted to our Chest Pain Observation
Unit receive additional testing if necessary and
close observation for up to 23 hours.

The Chest Pain Center staff works
closely with Southeast Missouri Hospital's Regional
Heart Center to provide prompt and appropriate
response to patients with chest pain. Serving
as a backup to the Chest Pain Center are Southeast's
