Mr. Yuk means No!
Mr. Yuk symbol of poison prevention

The National Poison Center has adopted Mr. Yuk as its warning symbol for poisonous substances to be avoided.

Mr. Yuk, a scowling green face, is printed on stickers which parents are encouraged to put on poisonous products in the home as well as on all telephones. Mr. Yuk signals danger to children.

Call the National Toll-Free Poison Hotline at 1-800-222-1222.

Since the introduction of child-resistant packaging in 1970, deaths in children under five have decreased dramatically.

Still, more than 4 million accidental poisonings are reported in the U.S. each year, and 65 percent of those involve children. The most common forms of poisoning among small children are vitamins, aspirins, cleaning and beauty supplies.
