       heart rhythm disorders

In 2008, SoutheastHEALTH opened the doors to the new Arrhythmia and Cardiac Electrophysiology Center at Southeast Hospital, featuring state-of-the-art technology. Southeast was one of the first hospitals in the world to deploy a biplane EP Navigator system, setting a new standard for the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders.  Since then, the EP program at Southeast has grown into one of the largest in the Midwest, serving patients from Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arkansas.

In a specialty where experience matters, the highly trained and specialized staff at SoutheastHEALTH are among the most skilled anywhere, with each EP team member participating in approximately 200 procedures per year, far outpacing other regional EP programs and comparable to the procedural volumes experienced by staff at the nation’s busiest tertiary referral centers. This experience directly translates into improved patient outcomes and fewer procedural complications, with rates of serious complications well below the national average.*

Southeast continues to be a national leader when it comes to adopting the latest clinically proven advances to treat patients with heart rhythm disorders:

*Rate of major complications 0.25% versus national average of 0.8%.
