Community Service
Reaching into the heart of the community with
health information and educational opportunities
is a vital component of the Regional Heart Center’s
philosophy. Southeast Missouri Hospital is a frequent
participant in community health fairs and special
health-related events. The Hospital sponsors various
health screenings at area senior centers, pharmacies,
and other locations; and the Regional Heart Center
is the presenting sponsor for the American Heart
Association’s Heart Walk which attracts
hundreds of participants each fall. |
Just for
Kids
When healthy habits are established at an early
age, they’re more likely to be maintained
later in life which is why Southeast Missouri
Hospital offers a variety of fitness and wellness
programs for youngsters. Kids Bee Fit classes
(for children ages 2-5), Romp N’ Stomp classes
(for kids ages 2-6), and our FitKids program (for
children 6-12) incorporate music, games and exercises
to help children learn that fitness is fun.
The Hospital and the Regional Heart Center also
work with area schools to provide age-appropriate
programs on heart health.
Congenital Heart Clinic
The Congenital Heart Clinic is provided by Southeast
Missouri Hospital in cooperation with St. Louis
Children’s Hospital. The Clinic serves children
who since birth have dealt with heart problems
who might otherwise have to be taken to St. Louis
or Memphis for diagnostic work and follow-up exams.
Services offered through the Clinic include chest
x-rays, EKGs, pulmonary studies, echocardiograms,
and stress testing. For more information about
the Congenital Heart Clinic, call (573) 651-5550.
