| Professional Credentials
Dr. Ramsey has been with Cardiac & Vascular
Surgeons since its inception in 1984. Prior to
joining Dr. Ruess in initiating Cape Girardeau's
first open heart surgery program, Dr. Ramsey was
in private practice in Tennessee as a cardiovascular
and thoracic surgeon.
With an undergraduate degree in physics from
the University of Mississippi in Jackson, Dr.
Ramsey went on to earn his medical degree from
the University of Mississippi School of Medicine.
It was there he completed an internship in general
surgery. His residencies in general surgery and
thoracic and cardiovascular surgery were completed
at Charlotte Memorial Hospital in North Carolina.
Dr. Ramsey holds board certification with the
American Board of Surgery and the American Board
of Thoracic Surgery. He is a member of the American
Medical Association, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons
and the Cape County Medical Society.
Personal Information
Dr. Ramsey lives in Cape Girardeau with his two sons.
