Southeast Missouri Hospital has opened a new Orthopedics Unit.

The five private and three semi-private rooms are equipped with individual climate control, built-in wood cabinetry and documentation stations with hands-free sinks.

Private rooms feature 27-inch television sets, DVD players, hairdryers and baths with showers.

The open, light design concept used on Orthopedics will be carried out on Southeast's two new patient room floors now under construction atop the Harrison Annex.

Family waiting area overlooks Capaha Park

Orthopedics patients and families may use the attractive waiting area overlooking Capaha Park. The area will be equipped with snack and beverage machines, tables, chairs, a 27-inch television.

A Physician/Family Consultation Room and two new public bathrooms adjoin the Waiting Area.

The Nursing Station, designed to look like a hotel receiving area, conceals a private chart and medication room and two physician dictation stations.

Adjacent is a staff report room with lockers and mini-kitchen facilities.
