Southeast Missouri Hospital
introduces a revolutionary
new cancer treatment option to the region. We
are the first in Missouri to offer this high-tech
treatment, and only one of 50 in the world. Novalis
Shaped Beam Surgery, enables physicians to treat
tumros of the brain, head, neck, spine, liver,
lung and prostate without harming surrounding
healthy tissue.
World-class Linear Accelerator
The
new Varian linear accelerator is the same world-class
technology found at internationally-renowned
cancer centers such as M.D. Anderson, Memorial
Sloan-Kettering, Johns Hopkins, Massachusetts
General, and the University of Chicago.

new liquid pap screening offers cutting-edge
technology
A new screening process now available at Southeast’s
Clinical Laboratory helps assure women that their
Pap tests are getting clearer screenings that
provide clearer diagnoses. Southeast’s
Lab is one of only about 100 U.S. labs to offer
physicians and women this cutting edge technology.

images that are unsurpassed by any other PET
unit in the region.
We operate on hearts without missing a beat All four heart surgeons at Southeast Missouri
Hospital's Regional Heart Center - Drs. J. Darryl Ramsey, Randy G. Brown, and
William R.M. Ogle - are trained in and regularly
perform "beating heart" bypasses.

has gone "filmless" and offers one
of the first digital imaging and archiving systems
in the area. The new system offers
rapid diagnosis and gives physicians some unique
3-D viewing capabilities they never had before.

Cancer Center offers hereditary cancer risk assessment
Now at Southeast
Missouri Hospital’s Regional Cancer Center,
individuals with a strong cancer history can
receive cancer risk assessment and counseling,
education and, if appropriate, genetic testing
at the region’s first Hereditary Cancer
Risk Assessment clinic.
