Among those babies
delivered in Southeast's new birthing suites is
Lilly Grace Piepenbrok, born September 26th, 2001
to Tina and Andy Piepenbrok of Sikeston,
Lilly was born in one of Southeast’s new
birthing suites which, according to her mother,
was very comfortable and spacious, but it had
little to do with why they chose Southeast for
their daughter’s birth.
“It’s the people,” Tina explained.
“They’re the ones who make it nice.
I don’t care about the room; I want people
who know what they’re doing.” |

| Many of the same nurses and support
staff who cared for Tina and Lilly a few weeks
ago were also there when the Piepenbrok’s
first child, Emma, was born on Christmas Eve 1997.
“I don’t remember much about the
room where I delivered Emma, but I remember the
people,” Tina said, adding that it was comforting
for her to see many of the same faces when Lilly
arrived including members of the Hospital’s
anesthesia staff who attend all deliveries.
For “big sister” Emma, Southeast’s
sibling class was a big help. “She loved
it,” Andy commented. “It really helped
her adjust to having a baby sister.” And
what did Emma like most about sibling class? “Seeing
the babies and learning how to help care for Lilly,”
she said with pride.
The Piepenbroks, like thousands of other families
over the years, counted on Southeast Missouri
Hospital to make the birth of their new daughter
special and memorable…in comfortable accommodations
surrounded by the region’s most experienced
obstetric staff. Experience, comfort, satisfaction.
